April Lockhart

April Lockhart was born on July 4, 1995. In seventh grade she began playing guitar and piano classes, which ignited her love for music writing. April Lockhart penned her first single"Different" when she was twelve years old. At the age of 14, April devoted a great deal of time in creating song concepts and practicing the music she was playing. Soon, April began taking trips in NY and LA with her Dad so that they could both compose songs. April also began incorporating additional relevant subjects into the"Take my Hand song for some close friends, like peer pressure issues and suicide among teens. Lockhart collaborates with popular clean beauty brand Ilia and is also a lifestyle blogger with a huge following of her own. Born without a left hand, the woman is a major part of her. It's however not the only thing she has to tell. Lockhart's Instagram page doesn't overlook her disability. It also doesn't insist on her disability. It's a message. The message? That we are all multifaceted, and that our identity and physical self aren't as appear. Lockhart tells Lockhart via video "I don't think that will define me. I don't intend to have an impact on disability, because I've plenty to offer." And it doesn't affect my everyday life. I go about every day as normal and have found my own way to adjust the things. It's also part of me, so I believe it's important to talk about. The journey of self-acceptance that Lockhart has taken is one that will last for a long time, and she is an inspiration with regard to this. Even so, Lockhart admits having moments that made her feel uncomfortable about her appearance, and the clothes that showed her arms. Nowadays, she dresses what she's comfortable in and post photos in those outfits to social networks with a sense of pride. Self-love, she says is a process. It's hard to say when you'll reach the end. It's a journey, I'm sure that you never get there. The people around you with who truly know your personal story and who can look through your eyes are the best people to help you remember what you're concerned about.
